Now that Democrats including Joe Biden have suddenly “discovered” (thanks to polls) that the chaos taking place in Democrat-run cities across America is not popular with voters, they’ve ratcheted up their “blame Trump” games. The primary way they’re doing this is by suggesting that the violent BLM/Antifa rioters who have used the death of George Floyd to wreak havoc on major American cities are doing so because of Trump.

As others have pointed out, this argument is flawed on many levels – primarily because the cities where the violence has escalated are all controlled by Democrats.

Not only that, but these same Democrats are themselves being targeted at their homes by rioters who have made it clear on multiple occasions that no matter what Democratic politicians – and residents – do in an effort to “break bread” with them that it will never be enough.

But while it’s a good idea for Republicans to hammer the point home about how it is Democrats who run these violence-plagued cities, it would be an even better idea for them to put a finer point on the argument by emphasizing just how long these cities have been under Democratic rule.

House Judiciary ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) did exactly that in a tweet posted earlier this week in which he noted that Democrats have reigned over these cities not just while Trump has been president but for decades:

And it’s not just that their control goes back decades. The violent crime rates and riots in many of these same cities goes back decades as well, which obviously cannot be blamed on Trump.
