New Harvard Poll: 56% of Americans Want Republicans to Run the Senate

A new poll conducted by Harris polling firm and Harvard University finds 56% of Americans want Republicans to run the Senate.

A majority of voters say they want Republicans to remain in control of the Senate in the new year after the Georgia runoff races, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll.

Fifty-six percent of voters said they want a divided government with Republicans in control of the upper chamber, according to data released exclusively to The Hill.

Forty-four percent of voters said they wanted Democrats to control the Senate.

As of now, the voters want divided government and their votes for the Senate and House indicate that as well,” said Harvard CAPS-Harris polling director Mark Penn. “This is a strong headwind for Democrats in the special election though [President] Trump’s continued failure to concede could muddy the waters here.”

The poll comes weeks after both Georgia Senate races headed to runoffs after all four candidates failed to reach the 50 percent threshold in the state needed to win an election.

The races feature pro-life candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler facing pro-abortion candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

Karen Cross of National Right to Life explains the importance of the election.

While Perdue and Loeffler hold 100% pro-life voting records, Ossoff and Warnock support a policy of abortion on demand, which would allow abortion for any reason. Both Democrats support taxpayer funding of abortion and are backed by Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

They will determine whether pro-life Senator Mitch McConnell remains Senate Majority Leader and in a position to block the House Democrats’ radical pro-abortion agenda of abortion without limits and taxpayer funding of abortion. If Democrats win both runoffs, each party will have 50 senators.

Were Biden to win the presidency, the deciding tie-breaker  vote would be cast by Vice President Kamala Harris, in her role as President of the Senate.

If the latter were to occur, it is likely that the Democrats, in charge of both chambers of Congress plus the executive branch, would pursue an extreme agenda that could include repealing the Hyde Amendment, transforming the judiciary into a pro-abortion super-Legislature, and passing legislation to codify Roe v. Wade, or, in other words, make abortion without limits the law of the land and invalidate state pro-life laws. Senate Democrats would also be in a position to approve virtually any Supreme Court pick selected by a President Joe Biden were a vacancy to occur.

The last day to register to vote in the January 5th runoff is December 7th. If you know someone who will turn 18 by January 5th, they can register to vote. https://georgia.gov/vote-2020-runoff-elections. Their first vote can help shape history!!

The U.S. Senate may be our last line of defense against the extreme pro-abortion agenda of the Democrats. We must return David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler to the U.S. Senate to maintain pro-life control.
