Trump Forced to Use Surrogate to Tweet ‘Get Well’ Wishes to Tiger Woods After Golfer Injured in Car Crash

Since he’s been permanently banned from Twitter, former President Donald Trump enlisted the help of one of his 2020 campaign advisors to post “Get Well” wishes to Tiger Woods after the five-time Masters Tournament winner was hurt in a car accident on Tuesday.

Trump Spokesman Jason Miller (@JasonMillerInDC) tweeted out the former president’s message to Woods, in which Trump tells the golfer that he is “a true champion”:

“Statement from Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America: ‘Get well soon, Tiger. You are a true champion!’”

Woods underwent surgery Tuesday after he was injured in a serious car crash, ESPN reports :

“Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car accident on Tuesday morning in Southern California that required the Jaws of Life tools to extract him from the vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“Woods, 45, has ‘multiple leg injuries’’ according to his agent, Mark Steinberg, who said the golfer was in surgery Tuesday afternoon.”

In 2019, Trump honored Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, The Hill notes:

“Trump awarded Woods the Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House in 2019.

“While bestowing the nation’s highest civilian honor on Woods, Trump called the five-time Masters winner ‘a global symbol of American excellence, devotion and drive.'”

Earlier this year, Twitter announced that it had permanently suspended Pres. Donald Trump’s account, preventing him from ever again posted on the popular social media platform he had used to share his thoughts with a vast, worldwide audience.
