Trump warns China not to wait for 2020 election to make trade deal

is warning China not to wait until finally the 2020 election to reach a trade agreement. 

In a series of morning tweets on Tuesday, Trump explained that China could get a “GREAT” deal if a Democrat wins the presidential election. He additional, nevertheless, that if he wins reelection, the deal presented to China will be “tougher” than the one currently staying negotiated. He also warned of the chance of “no deal at all.”

“They should probably wait out our Election to see if we get one of the Democrat stiffs like Sleepy Joe. Then they could make a GREAT deal, like in past 30 years, and continue…to ripoff the USA, even bigger and better than ever before,” Trump explained. 

“The problem with them waiting, however, is that if & when I win, the deal that they get will be much tougher than what we are negotiating now…or no deal at all,” he additional. “We have all the cards, our past leaders never got it!” 

U.S. Trade Representative and Treasury Secretary have been scheduled to go to China on Tuesday to meet with  Vice Premier Liu He.

Immediately after trade negotiations collapsed in May perhaps, Trump raised tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese items and has threatened to impose tariffs on $300 billion in Chinese imports, but has explained he will not do so when talks proceed. 

The president’s tweets also come hours ahead of the 2nd round of Democratic debates.
